take this, all of you, and rock.

so, i met rob sheffield last night, and it was nothing short of glorious. combine that with a pre-book-signing dinner at zaftig's- an amaaazing jewish deli in coolidge corner, brookline- and you've got one lovely evening.

for those who aren't familiar (or don't know about my obsession with this man), rob is a contributing editor at rolling stone, and appears a bunch on those various vh1 shows. most importantly, he wrote this book, "love is a mixtape," which i've read twice now and cried like a little girl both times. anyways, he read a couple passages from the book, and waxed poetic about the long-lost art of mix tapes, among other things. he's hilarious.

i was bound and determined not to make a fool of myself when i met him (flashback to chuck klosterman last year...ugh), so i simply shook his hand, introduced myself, said that i was a big fan, and love the pop life column he does for rolling stone as well. "thanks, thanks! i'm working on one about rock of love right now," he responded. "oh my god, it's so trashy!" i blurted out. "i know, i know, sooooo trashy, but i love it! the best part is that they set it up as if he's really going to find the love of his life...but i still watch it!" i agreed, thanked him again, and exited gracefully as he said "nice meeting you, kim"...crisis averted!

also, i started my internship at arnold on tuesday in the brand promotions department, and it's absolutely amazing! i keep busy all day, and working at an ad agency is definitely just as cool as it sounds. plus, it's in the prudential center. holler.

yay for the weekend!
